 The
Imagination Faculty
Albert
Einstein notes that "imagination is more important than knowledge
- for knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand,
while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever
will be to know and understand." As he put it, "Logic
will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere."
Our
present limitations, are but conditions of our mind. From personal
improvements, to large scale social advancements in culture and
science that break through limitations of the past - all these
come about through the bold application of the faculty of imagination.
What
today stands as 'self-evident truths', these were once just an
act of imagination in a single person's mind. The great achievers
in our history were to start with, just great dreamers. In fact,
who we are today is but what we are imagining ourselves to be.
It
is imagination that opens up new possibilities, that release us
from limitations that today we don't even necessarily see. As
such, to make the leap from limitation to freedom, or from good
to great - we need to tap into our imagination faculty.
For
a sustained effort of time, we need to habitualize living in our
imagination, instead of our conditioned mindset. This is what
the first module will put into continual practice, and through
it, we'll build up the intensity of our creative power.
Developing
the imagination faculty brings about the vision of your dream
life. It comes in the second week of our study, after the preparatory
work. As Napoleon Hill put it, "First comes
thought; then organization of that thought, into ideas and plans;
then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning,
as you will observe, is in your imagination."
Creating
a clear vision of where you wants to be is a skill, and it demands
the learning and unlearning of certain mental habits.
For example, understanding the mutually reciprocal role
between desire and inspiration is critical:
One
must invest with passion into one's vision, in order to have
the inspiration for its realization. It’s
only through the love of seeing the the final end in
mind, that one is empowered to put forth the effort required.
As Mozart put it, “Love, love, love, that is the soul
of genius.”
So
you'll be encouraged in our coaching program to consider your result
from many perspectives, - until a clear and specific vision emerges:
your authentic calling.
Every
human being has the instinctive need for the highest values of
beauty, truth, and justice, and so on. If we can accept this notion,
then the key question isn't 'what fosters creativity'?
But it is why in God's name isn't everyone creative?
