"The Universal Law of HabitForce is the culmination of my entire philosophy of individual achievement. It is the key to all Laws of Success. If I had known of the existence of the law and of its working principle at the beginning of my research, I could have organized a philosophy with which an average person can become self-determining, in a much shorter period of time."
Napoleon Hill

a Question:

a Question

Napoleon Hill and Abraham Maslow, the authoritative self-actualization researchers of last century, both identified that the 'master-key' to high performance in human beings, is to develop great habits that support personal growth.

It is the habit mechanism that most consistently shapes the mindset for achieving long-lasting fulfillment, health, success and prosperity, while positively changing the world.

But what these researchers didn't answer, is just what are the essential habits for creating and sustaining positive transformations - as observed across the highest achieving and highest fulfilled people?

More important, what habits can turn an ordinary person, an average performer or even what society might consider 'a failure', to turn his life around and become truly Great?

an Attraction:an Attraction

This question has fascinated me for many years: If we take the list of people that Dr Maslow psychologically analyzed to have the highest of mental health, or the list of high achievers as compiled by Dr. Hill, or just a common sense list of the greatest leaders and thinkers throughout our history and look into their biography - what habits did these people most often practice and how?

Specifically, what habits would they most often recommend for having made the biggest difference in shaping their character, thinking and quality of life?

a Research:a Research

These questions all began with a major research project into the motivations and experiences of life-coaches. In an action-research project, I set up a number of focus groups with a number of outstanding coaches from Melbourne, to better understand the process of change - from the people who work with the pursuit of self-improvement, on an everyday basis.

Through dialogues regarding the application and effectiveness of their strategies, ideas for personal transformation were evaluated - i.e. when they did work, what was activated within and why? When they didn't, why not?

Armed with this knowledge, these ideas launched a second major research project - reviewing and contrasting the literature and revelations of Hill and Maslow, for the habits most responsible for the personal transformation of behaviors, one’s emotional state of being and character.

Here, the major principles and practices that these researches found in all effective leaders, thinkers and self-actualizers, were rigorously scrutinized - in search for practical insights into the process of cultivating greatness.

Without letting ideology or pre-conceived ideas dictate what the answer ‘should be’, I resolved to let the biographies of the Greats and the theoretical-practical principles behind them, to speak for themselves - and in turn, to teach whatever emerged...

a Vision:a Puzzle

Upon completing these research projects, I then stepped back from these mountains of ideas - to distill the potent habits for creating positive changes, into a usable system that can be taught and be easily learned - i.e. like a gym program.

According to the timeless practice for unleashing breakthrough thinking, I stepped into the wilderness (on the remote island of Tasmania), for a continuous period of 40 days on a 'vision quest'. For a period of nearly six weeks, in total isolation, I did nothing but to think about these principles, and to write out what could be the most optimal methods for developing such a course. The result is this life transforming program.

In short, 'a course in Greatness' builds upon Napoleon Hill's dream, of organizing a philosophy grounded in the practicalities of habits, through which any person may become self-determining, in a short period of time.

'a course in Greatness' is the next generation of personal achievement-fulfillment programs, unlike any other.
